The 4mm super narrow and sleek chassis is the first innovation we are presenting. The symmetrical layout of the openings is engineered to maximize handling, chassis rigidity, torsional flex, and cooling At the same time, attention to detail and aesthetics confers an aggressive look.
The final piece of the chassis is the transmission plate. Included in the kit, complements the solid core structure of the chassis, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the transmission.
A new symmetrical bulkhead assembly has been developed for this car. The walls are fixed to the chassis with M4 screws and feature aligning pins to ensure the perfect parallelism between them. Combined with an exquisite and functional design, they are complemented with the differential mountain brackets.
Allowing easy diff access and height adjustment, the symmetrical design features an off-centered eccentric bushing housing and ball bearing holders. The whole assembly is complemented by the non concentric pinion holder that can be installed in different positions to guarantee perfect gear mesh when adjusting the differential height.
The completely redesigned suspension hangers are also symmetric so one hanger fits the whole car. They feature small inserts that allow you to move the arms up and down to change the roll center. They are independently bolted to the chassis by three screws which is beneficial because it enables more control of the chassis flex. In a traditional C-Hub car, you need to swap the insert in the rear to change the toe, but not in the new IGT8. The design team was able to apply and evolve an already-proven concept to easily adjust it. In fact, by turning a set screw from the side of the car, you can modify your toe on the fly.
The new hard-coated steel CVD system is in line with the SYM logic and it's another first in the GT market. All six CVDs have the same length, lowering the cost of the user spare parts inventory. Special attention was focused on the materials, with great results in the wear and mechanical strength.
Another gem is the lightweight wheel hexes. We were able to give a simple component like this a very versatile and smart application. The SYM already has all the options needed to change the car's width. You don’t need to purchase different hex options anymore, but by simply moving spacers, you can adjust your width for up to 2mm per side. Another cool thing is the wheel nuts. They are serrated on both sides.
Inspired by the most successful modern Touring Car applications, we have integrated proven ideas into our design. The SYM philosophy is applied to the fullest in the suspension components where the arm, arm block, and wheel hub can be used in any of the corners, making our car the first GT to adopt this clever and efficient design. The aluminum strong and sleek arm design guarantees optimum performance under any track condition. For extremely high grip situations, you can install the optional carbon fiber inserts for added stiffness. Last but not least, the wheelbase can be independently adjusted in the front and the rear by up to 2 mm per axle.
Carrying over the concept of the adjustable caster (an innovation that we presented in our previous platform), the new wheel block is smaller and lighter. Besides housing the caster inserts, this solution enables versatility in design and adaptability in any situation. Finally, we have the wheel hubs. They feature a zero kingpin inclination for maximum steering when used in the front. Additionally, you can change their height by moving shims around and changing the roll center on the wheel.
The shock towers are made out of 4mm carbon fiber and compared to our previous platform, they sit 8mm lower. They feature a system that we named DCS (Droop Control System). This gadget, already present in the TC 1/10 scale, is included in the kit and is the first time that it is applied in the 1/8 GT class.
The DCS can be activated by removing 2 screws on the fly and the action is independent for the front and rear suspension. When activated it ensures optimal wheel contact by drastically accelerating the rebound of your suspension. This is especially useful in both axles when running on bumpy tracks, or in the rear when more steering is needed under braking.
The kit includes a one-piece rear shock tower for those situations when a stiffer rear assembly is preferred.
The sway bars are dedicated for the front and rear and laser marked. They ride on ball bearings for maximum precision.
An adjustable link system is included. Conveniently designed to have access from the top by turning a special set screw, you can easily balance your sway bar.
After many tests and different solutions, we found a way to achieve the perfect blend of functionality, performance, and look. The symmetric stiffener allows the torsional flex needed while providing strong linear support. Made out of 3mm carbon fiber, the rear ones are the same for both GP and EP versions, white the front is dedicated for each version.
The fully aluminum servo saver has an elegant and stylish design. Together with the 4mm ball race carbon fiber plate, enables the perfect Ackerman adjustments for any situation. The front CF support base works in both flat or kick-up configuration by just flipping it around.
The Sym is equipped with a 46-13 internal drive ratio, a gearing combination that works well with today's engine powerband. The diffs are mounted on eccentrics made out of Delrin. The combination of both pieces enables 5 different height positions, with a range of movement of 12mm.
Hard-coated aluminum turnbuckles are included with the kit. They are light and durable and feature a glossy black stylish color.
The bumper is completely redesigned to comply with the current IFMAR rules. The posts have a wider stance to minimize the rocking of the body while turning. The super low profile design is made out of high-density foam and features cutouts to adjust the weight balance of your front end.
The symmetric body mount brackets feature multiple fixing options enabling you to choose vertical or horizontal mounting style by just moving the carbon fiber support. The brackets have the perfect shape to allow easy access to the DCS, so you can enable it or disable it on the fly. Also available for the vertical configuration is an optional anti body tuck support.
The motor mount is an evolution of the previous version. We took our proven and reliable design to another level by adding more features. The motor sits on a sliding mount for easy mesh adjustment.
We have included a fan mount that is bolted from the bottom. A 4mm carbon fiber bracket is provided and allows vertical mounting up to two 40mm cooling fans.
Purpose-designed brackets house the batteries to guarantee secure containment under the most extreme situations. They are raised and together with the openings in the chassis, the necessary airflow for the battery is guaranteed. Two bolted carbon fiber strips round up the assembly by keeping the battery in position.
The ESC is mounted on a carbon fiber base. Slots under the ESC have been added to allow airflow. The trays also house the receiver and the transponder. An optional purposed built 40mm stylish cooling fan support is also available.
The transmission shaft is the same for both Nitro and Electric. It features C clips for easy positioning on the transmission mount. A new designed gear carrier houses mod 0.8 extra hard gears.
